We are fortunate to have healthcare workers who put their lives at risk to treat patients suffering from COVID-19. We would like to benefit and acknowledge all of the healthcare workers who are directly treating COVID-19 patients or have increased exposure right now by providing meals. We also realize that local restaurants are suffering a loss of patronage during this crisis. We want to support them as well, which is why we are only sourcing the meals for healthcare workers from local restaurants.
Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase meals from local restaurants for healthcare workers working in the COVID-19 units at UC Irvine Health located in Orange, CA as well as Placentia-Linda Hospital located in Placentia, CA. If we raise more funds than intended, we will provide meals for the staff working directly or indirectly with COVID-19 patients in other hospitals as well.
